STS: Prescription Drugs Misuse and Abuse
Our STS: Prescription Drugs Misuse and Abuse course familiarizes individuals with problems arising from misuse, abuse, and diversion of controlled medications. It discusses the Controlled Substance Act (CSA) of 1970, and Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) policy for prescribing controlled substances. It is two hours long and is available online only.
The objectives for this lesson are:
RECALL definitions of addiction, physical dependence, tolerance, and therapeutic range.
IDENTIFY problems arising from misuse, abuse, and diversion of controlled medications.
RECALL aspects of the Controlled Substances Act of 1970.
RECALL the Drug Enforcement Administration’s policy for prescribing controlled substances.
Duration: 1 Hour
