Every time my wife and I have a trip to Louisiana we take our bikes. Not only are the LA State Parks awesome, there are some very bicycle friendly communities throughout the State. We are blown away when we visited Abita Springs for the first time – there were cyclists everywhere and both cars and bicycles were being safe and responsible.
This is a great resource if you are interested in Bicycle Maps for Louisiana: http://wwwprd.doa.louisiana.gov/LaServices/PublicPages/ServiceDetail.cfm?service_id=2229
We will be riding from New Orleans to Pensacola on April 5th.
