School Training Solutions™ (STS), a division of Smart Horizons®, has partnered with the National Association for Pupil Transportation (NAPT) to offer an online training option for NAPT members across the county. Twenty-five courses of the Professional Development Series (PDS) are available online to provide an affordable and convenient training option for those seeking professional certifications for Transportation Directors, Supervisors, Specialists, and Instructors.

The Professional Development Series was developed as an education-based program that prepares pupil transportation professionals for daily tasks and professional advancement via classroom type training. Courses that enhance transportation skills were developed in each of the following areas: Orientation, Communications, Financial Management, Human Resources Management, Physical Resource Management, Operations/Systems Management, Leadership, and Special Education. As a way to expand the PDS program, and looking toward the future, NAPT made the choice to offer many of these same courses and topics online.
